Ranking List 2012, Germany


Doreen, successful in Grand Prix

Terhi Stegars is now ranked 21st in the German Equestrian Federation.  She is especially proud because the 32,476 ranking points only come from national competitions exclusively in Germany and Luxembourg. Her international results are counted separately and will only be recognized by the Finnish Federation.

Terhi can thank the following horses for her success: Axis TSF, Dalou Shan, Doreen, Lord Luciano, Rash and Thai Pee. Special thanks must also go to the Kayser family and the entire team from Beaufort.

50th International Trakehner Stallion Show, Neumünster / DE
This year the Trakehner association has only awarded the title of "Elite Stallion" to one horse. At the 2012 Trakehner stallion market this title was awarded to Axis TSF. The 13-year-old black stallion bred by Ewald Hartmann, Germany and owned by Sian Reade, England was given the title as a result of his breeding as well as his outstanding performance at Grand Prix level.

In 2007 Axis TSF, under his long term rider and trainer Terhi Stegars, achieved his first Prix St Georges level placing. To date he has achieved 10 Grand Prix victories and been placed a further 24 times at Grand Prix level including World Cup and CDI5* competitions. Axis TSF is graded as a Trakehner Stallion, is licensed for use with Hanover, Oldenburg, Rhineland and Westphalia breeds and has produced 5 graded sons.



The stallion show in Neumünster is the biggest event of the year for the Trakehner Association and serves as the stage for award presentations to deserving Trakehner breeders. As this year was the 50th Trakehner stallion market it was an outstanding opportunity to present awards. The most successful dressage horse was announced as Axis TSF by Sixtus out of Akansas from Angard ridden by Terhi Stegars, a member of the Finnish Olympic squad. The breeder, Ewald Hartmann, was presented a silver Dr. Fritz Schilke memorial plaque.

Terhi Stegars was also honoured. She was awarded a gold lapel pin by the Trakehner Association in appreciation of the years of dedication and success shown with Trakehner horses. Amongst other things she has trained three approved stallions from young horse level through to Grand Prix and has appeared several times at the world championships for young horses as well as the Bundesschampionate with Trakehner horses. Terhi provided the highlight of this year’s gala event by performing with Axis TSF in front of a capacity crowd of 4,000.

Olympic Games London 2012 / GB



Finland has been allocated two individual dressage places at the 2012 Olympics Games. Terhi Stegars and Sian Reade's graded trakehner stallion Axis TSF have been appointed as the Finnish travelling reserves. The pair have achieve striking success throughout the season scoring repeatedly above 70% at the Grand Prix level, most notably at CDI Wiesbaden and World Dressage Masters CDI München.

Terhi will join the Finnish Olympic team for the training camp at the end of July with Kyra Kyrklund and Richard White in England.

Foal Show, Klosterhof Medingen / GER

The foal show, which is the qualification for the German Foal Championships in Lienen 2012, was on at the same time as Verden and Medingen.  Nearly 90 farmers registered their foals.



The Reserve Champion was a brown mare by Lord Luciano x Autumn King.  Best wishes to the exhibitor, Veronika von Schöning from Panker.
